From early on, I’ve been fascinated with languages, their diversity and history, and I love teaching. I teach classes at San Francisco State University and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes at Santa Clara University, and I lecture in the Bay Area and around the world.

I write about languages, linguistics, geography and geopolitics at Languages of the World blog. My travel writing, literary translations and other essays are posted on my Russian page.

I also offer translation, editing, interpreting and localization services, and individual tutoring in ESL and Russian.
